PNP General Olger Benavides Ponce today assumed the leadership of the Arequipa Police Region. He stated that he will implement a new work system against organized crime, as well as common crime in the region and every 15 days he will report on the results of police work.

“I am from Arequipa and I have come to work for Arequipa, the institutional command has appointed me here, I know that there are citizen security problems and we are going to solve them immediately,” announced Benavides Ponce.

The officer announced that the National Police has two backbones: prevention and investigation. “In prevention, all police officers and commissioners are going to be evaluated so that they can carry out their work. “We are going to apply the security triangle which is factual knowledge, timely communication and immediate response,” said.

The head of the Arequipa Police Region announced that they will receive the diagnosis of each police station and take immediate action. “My commitment to Arequipa is to work for my land, one must leave a mark on their land. I have the responsibility of being a police officer and being an Arequipeño like you. I work morning, afternoon and night. “You will see me in the streets”he pointed out.

He announced that a delegation from Ministry of the Interior will arrive in Arequipa on Monday, January 13 to see the culmination of the Criminalistics Laboratory and the PNP Non-Commissioned Officer School located in the La Joya district.
