If there is a leak or breach, it is the responsibility of the person who handles the information, not the person who communicates it,” he said on Tuesday.
Zanabria also spoke out about the alleged leaks of information to congressmen. However, he described them as inappropriate and assured that they have no relation to police actions.
On the other hand, he stated that the PNP continues to evaluate the information cautiously, because it warned that many of these would be disseminated in order to obstruct the capture of wanted persons.
The PNP chief said that the information is handled internally and is not shared with the Minister of the Interior.
He also revealed that the operations carried out to capture Cerrón showed that the fugitive ex-governor was in those buildings shortly before the authorities arrived.
