The president of the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep), Manuel Palácios, said, this Thursday (16), that the National Teaching Test (PND) will raise the quality of the category throughout the country. Applied on October 26th, the test is aimed at basic education teachers.
“Teachers who are preparing to practice teaching and who have not found opportunities will now have a chance to access the career,” said Palácios, in an interview with Voice of Brazilfrom the EBC. Therefore, according to his understanding, there will be more teachers applying to fill teaching positions in education networks.
“We have teachers who are temporary and want to participate in public competitions to become permanent teachers and also those who did not enter and want to enter the teaching career now.
Inep released today the test locations for the more than 1 million registered.
Results
This is the first evaluation of teachers with the possibility of entering a teaching career.
The president of Inep says that the results of each candidate (teacher or graduating from undergraduate courses) who participate in the National Teaching Test can be used for three years in public competitions and for simplified selection processes that all networks carry out at the end of each academic year.
“We have 1.08 million applicants. It is a very significant number of candidates for a teaching career and we hope that the 26th will be a great success.” Palacios states that approximately 280,000 people are completing bachelor’s degrees.
The other approximately 800 thousand registered include those who already work as teachers (around 300 thousand), and more than 500 thousand who want to enter the teaching career. The president of Inep states that 22 states and approximately 1,500 municipalities have joined the test to be used in selection exams.
17 areas of the degree will be evaluated. The tests have 80 questions, 30 on general topics in teacher training and 50 questions relating to each of the specialties.
The test is part of the Mais Professores program, which provides scholarships for those who, through the National High School Examination, want to pursue a degree.
