Bolivarian National Police had arrested, in two procedures, five men linked to alleged extortion crimes.
In an operation in the El Viñedo sector, Valencia municipality, Carabobo state, four citizens were apprehended, whose identities were not announced, for their alleged link with crimes of extortion to merchants in the area.
During the procedure, various evidence of criminal interest were seized, including a revolver type firearm, a motorcycle type vehicle and four cell phones that would have been used to coordinate extortive actions.
The case was put to the order of the Public Ministry, for the alleged commission of these crimes, as well as the illicit possession of a firearm and association to commit crimes.
In another procedure, officials assigned to the division against kidnapping and extortion of the Bolivarian National Police achieved the apprehension of a citizen for the alleged crime of extortion, in the central town of Maracaibo, Zulia state.
During the process, an explosive artifact type Granada and a mobile phone was seized, which after being subjected to forensic expertise, the device revealed direct links with the structured group of organized crime (Gedo) known as “El Caracas”.
The action was developed in articulation with tactical units, consolidating the institutional commitment in the fight against criminal networks that threaten citizen security.
