One of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of Deiker Johandri Rodríguezan official of the Strategic Intelligence Directorate (DIE) and son of former Venezuelan great league Francisco “El Kid” Rodríguez, was captured on Sunday, January 25, by commissions of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB).
The detainee, identified as Yibran Pérez and known by the alias El Pirulo, was arrested in the Araguaney sector of the El Onoto neighborhood, in UD2 of the Caricuao parish, during an operation carried out by officials assigned to the DIE East Base.
The authorities indicated that Pérez would have participated directly or indirectly in the armed attack that ended the life of the official. In addition, he is identified as an alleged member of the La Piscina criminal organization, dedicated to trafficking narcotic and psychotropic substances in the area.
After his capture, alias El Pirulo was presented before the competent courts, while the Public Ministry assumed the direction of the investigations.
Crime of the son of “El Kid” Rodríguez
The homicide of Deiker Rodríguez occurred on January 16, when the official was carrying out field investigation work as part of an undercover operation. According to official information, he was intercepted by armed individuals who shot him, causing his death at the scene.
The case generated widespread commotion both in the field of security and in the sports world, as it was the eldest son of “El Kid” Rodríguez, current coach of the La Guaira Sharks and one of the most emblematic figures of Venezuelan baseball.
Security agencies reported that operations continue to find the whereabouts of the rest of the gang members allegedly involved in the murder of the official.
