The National Police reported at midnight this Sunday that it ordered the arrest of several civilians and “all the agents involved” in the death of a 12-year-old boy during the celebration of the Santiago Carnival. He said that he deeply regrets the incident and expressed his condolences to the victim’s relatives.
The event occurred when the under 12-year-old named Donaly Martínez was with his father identified as Antony Martínez, enjoying the cultural activity. After the incident occurred, the agents who were members of the patrol left without helping the child and after getting the agent identified as responsible for the homicide into the vehicle.
According to a statement from the law enforcement agency, a commission was appointed to investigate the incident, which will be headed by the Police Inspector General, General Pedro Cordero Ubri.

“The investigative commission is already in Santiago conducting interviews and surveys,” said the Police.
According to the document, the director of the National Policemajor general Eduardo Alberto Thenguaranteed that the person or persons responsible must answer to justice for the act.
The institution specified that this Monday morning it will offer more details of the case, as the investigation progresses.
