The South Regional Directorate of the Police reported that in interventions carried out in Barahona, Bahoruco and Pedernales, agents of the institution arrested six men, seized two firearms, including an artisan one, and recovered nine galvanized tola royos that had been stolen from a project.
The detainees are Iván Medina, Yoel Fernando Cuevas, Nelson González, Brayan Alexander Pérez, Dionifel Florián Matos and Joel Rojas Batista, aged 31, 28, 23, 20, 23, and 19 years old, respectively.
It points out that Iván Medina, Yoel Cuevas and Nelson González, were arrested in the municipal district of Villa Central, Barahona province, when they were suspiciously transporting in vehicles, Nissan and Sonata brands, without license plates.
According to the uniformed officer, the first was allegedly seized with a 9-millimeter pistol, with 3 capsules and filed numbers, without documents; the second was seized an artisanal weapon of the so-called “Chilean” and the third, a bladed weapon.
While Brayan Alexander Pérez and Dionifel Florián Matos, detained in Neyba Bahoruco Province, the agents seized two large galvanized tola royos that they were transporting in the truck, Toyota Pick brand, which they had stolen from the project called MEDILIFE that operates in that town .
According to the uniformed, the policemen also recovered another seven royos de tola that, after stealing them from the same entity, the detainees sold them to private individuals.
Lastly, Joel Rojas Batista was arrested in Pedernales after being surprised by the agents when he was carrying an aluminum window that he had stolen from the residence of Mrs. Gisel Santana.
The six detainees together with the occupied, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding purposes of law.
