The National Police arrested this Thursday Jose Manuel Matos Vasquez45 years old, identified as the author of the death of a woman in Santiago, this being the first feminicide of the year.
Matos Vásquez was arrested in this city or Wednesday afternoon, accused of taking the life of his romantic partner, Yenifer Milagro Peña43 years old. The tragic event occurred on January 1 of this year in the La Cambrona sector, in Santiago.

The victim was allegedly physically attacked during their almost 20-year relationship by her executioner.
According to Peña’s relatives, Juan Manuel Vásquez, known as Lile, who took her life on the night of December 31 by strangling her, constantly mistreated her, so on several occasions they separated but always returned.
