A 30-year-old military police officer who was making the pilgrimage to the National Sanctuary of Aparecida was shot dead during a robbery in the early hours of Saturday (11) on the Lorena section of the Presidente Dutra Highway. He had worked at the corporation for 10 years and leaves behind a wife and two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl.
According to information in the Police Report, teams from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) were carrying out an inspection action when they were called by a pilgrim who reported that his parents had been robbed. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the suspects had fled.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), authorities were informed that a military police officer and two other pilgrims had been hit by gunfire.
“Everyone was taken to a hospital in the region, but the police officer did not survive his injuries”, informs the SSP-SP in a note.
The case was registered at the Lorena Police Station as a robbery and attempted robbery. The Civil Police takes steps to identify and locate the perpetrators of the crime, in order to clarify all the circumstances of what happened.
