The Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA) published a statement regarding the fire at the TSJE that ended with the damage of 8,500 voting machines. He described Jaime Bestard’s expressions as insane.
The representatives of the PLRA requested the following five points on the subject; no to the unfolding of the elections, compliance with the electoral schedule, use of the voting machines (no to the ballots), investigation of the origin of the crime of the incident and explanation of the vulnerability of the Electoral Justice. And if they do not comply with the four previous points, the resignation of the TSJE ministers is required.
NAKAYAMA
In the same sense, Eduardo Nakayama, candidate for senator for the PLRA, said that when an incident like this occurs, many alerts are triggered, in the sense that in an election year, where too many things have to be defined, he does not stop calling the attention
“We know that within the theory of possibilities an accident can occur, but it does not stop attracting attention. It does leave a cloak of doubt that the president of the TSJE has gone ahead, without the fire having been extinguished, and without having a moment to reflect with other ministers, on the possibility of unfolding the elections, ”he questioned.
He pointed out that the elections must be held simultaneously and that he is concerned about the statements given because they show serious irresponsibility on the part of the president of the TSJE. “He should remain calm and consistent in an electoral process as delicate as the one we are experiencing. Prudence and consistency should have prevailed”, he stated.
“We know perfectly well that we are three months away, these machines can be replaced, they can be ordered from another company, from another electoral institution in another country. There are too many possibilities to testify”, he commented.
Finally, he said that those who want to take advantage of the split are the groups that can get two votes, the patronage vote and the patronage vote. “I definitely think this benefits the Colorado party in general.”
