The plenary session of National Election Jury will carry out this Friday the appeal hearing requested by the interim president of the Congress, Fernando Rospigliosi.
The session takes place on the occasion of the scandal over the use of a chamber of Parliament in a proselytizing event by Fuerza Popular, a party of which the head of the Legislature is a member.
Given this situation, the Special Electoral Jury of Pacasmayo issued a resolution holding Rospigliosi responsible for violating electoral neutrality, a document that was appealed by the parliamentarian.
After verifying that the established requirements were met, the Special Electoral Jury decided to admit the appeal and ordered the referral of the file to the National Elections Jury, so that it could issue its final ruling in a public hearing.
The president of Congress reported on Thursday that this Friday he would go to the electoral headquarters at 10:00 am, together with his lawyer. “In my opinion, there is no misuse of public resources. The camera case was an isolated, reprehensible and punishable case,” he told the press.
