The plenary session of the National Assembly unanimously approved this Tuesday, summoning the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, to answer a 15-question questionnaire related to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on education, among other.

The motion was presented by the independent deputy Juan Diego Vásquez, which had the support of the various benches, including the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD).

The minister will have to answer questions about what is the roadmap that Meduca has to try to recover the lag left by the two-year period of virtual classes, about how it will reduce the digital divide and how many students from private schools migrated to official campuses.

It must also answer if the official educational centers were prepared to receive students from private schools, why there are still schools with structural problems and without property titles. It must also explain the measures that have been taken to eliminate ranch schools in the country and to reverse the “unfortunate” results in the PISA tests.
