He Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) will elect 183 new members of its Central Committee today, in elections that will begin at 9:00 in the morning, in 237 polling stations scattered throughout the national territory.
The votes take place within the framework of the X Reinaldo Pared Pérez Ordinary Congress of the organization.
The Central Committee is the highest leadership body of the LDP, after the Congress, and is made up of 623 members.
Its members are elected by secret and universal vote.

Cristina Lizardo, president of the Congress Organizing Commission, stated that voting is manual, with printed ballots and lists.
He stated that 553 candidates will opt for the positions to be elected, which were “duly refined” and met the requirements established in the party Statutes.
They will be elected for the period 2024-2028.
Lizardo explained that, last Friday, the commission concluded the process of distributing the materials that will be used at the polling stations, which include the photographic registry, the ballots, the keys for the transmission of the results, and the election regulations.
It also includes instructions for the voting process and transmission of the results, as well as the most recent resolutions on the process.
In the capital, the national home of the PLD, in the Gascue sector, 7 polling stations will operate, corresponding to Electoral Districts One and Three of the National District.
Right to vote
Tomorrow, the members of the Central Committee and the presidents of base committees, provincial and municipal committees, electoral constituencies, municipal districts and intermediate committees registered in the Electoral Roll have the right to vote.

Lizardo asked the PLD members with the right to vote to go to the polls en masse.
“With this vote, the colleagues of your choice will be chosen, who aspire in their locality to be part of the highest body of the Party,” he said.
He said that vote will strengthen the party’s local leadership.
