Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) expelled from their ranks Ángel Neftalí Beltré Encarnación, Edison Padilla and Luis Manuel Féliz Méndez, members of the Central Committee and presidents of grassroots committees respectively, for negotiating behind the organization’s back with their peers from the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).
The decision was made by the National Court of Ethics and Disciplinary of the PLD for “high treason and disobeying the political-union line of the organization”, which led to violation of the Statutes, the Regulations of Discipline and Ethics of the Party.
The now expelled members of the PLD were part of the PLD university student group, and behind the back of the University Commission and the PLD leadership they negotiated with the PRM representation at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD).
