The central committee chose Mayobanex Escoto, Víctor Suarez, Alexis Lantigua, Ramón Santos, Domingo Jiménez and Tommy Galán to direct the six remaining positions
To the chorus of “abel president…!” and in the absence of the president of the political organization, Danilo Medina, the members of the Central Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) chose yesterday in their National House the heads of the secretariats of Organization, Information Technology and Communications, Electoral Affairs, Dominicans Abroad, International Relations and Municipal Affairs.
The almost 1,304 leaders who packed the meeting room chose Mayobanex Escoto, in the Organization Secretariat; Víctor Suarez, in the Secretariat of International Relations; Alexis Lantigua, at the Secretariat for Dominicans Resident Abroad and Ramón Santos, at the Secretariat for Municipal Affairs.
While Domingo Jiménez, was chosen in charge of the Secretariat of Information Technology and Communications and Tommy Galán, was proclaimed in the Secretariat of Electoral Affairs because he had no opponent.
The absence of the figure of the president of the PLD, Danilo Medina, drew the attention of the press. TODAY he learned that he is out of the country attending family commitments.
Prior to the act, several leaders of the purple party highlighted the activity, considering it another stepping stone for development to strengthen the course of that organization in the face of the upcoming elections.
“This is one more step in the process of strengthening and reorganizing the Dominican Liberation Party, which began with the development of the IX José Joaquín Bidó Medina Congress, the election of the members of the Central Committee with more than 1,200 members and the election of the Political Committee, the secretariats and the entire process of implementation of the electoral organizational line that has put an end to the election of all directorates at the district and municipal level. Today we complete it”, explained Senator José del Castillo Saviñón.
While the spokesman in the Senate of the Republic, Yvan Lorenzoassured that with this structural renewal the PLD is on the way to be victorious in the next electoral tournament of 2024.
“We have successfully and satisfactorily completed the entire transformation process in the PLD. The party is renewed in a general sense and it is today when the congress concludes”, said Lorenzo.
As explained by both leaders, with the selection of the secretariats, the PLD closes its institutional tasks to concentrate on the campaign process. He has already formed his campaign teams at the national level, while the visits and approaches with the different sectors of his virtual presidential candidate, Abel Martínez, are restarted.
