The candidates for the presidency of the Republic of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) launched this weekend the streets of different parts of the country in search of the support of the militants of that political organization.
The applicants continue to consolidate their political structures in view of the internal popular consultation of the purple party, scheduled for October 16.
During their tours of different provinces of the country, Abel Martínez, Margarita Cedeño and Francisco Domínguez Brito used their different scenarios to confront the Government that the wave of robberies and criminality that plagues the country is gaining more ground every day.
“This government has shown total inability to control the wave of crime that surrounds Dominican men and women who cannot take to the streets without fear of being raped, murdered and trafficked,” said Martínez.
The also mayor of Santiago traveled around 15 kilometers in Nagua in a caravan where he later swore in community leaders and leaders from sectors outside his presidential project.
Cedeño affirmed that the fundamental cause of the growing citizen insecurity lies in the government’s inability to properly manage the country.
The former vice president made this statement during a tour of several areas that make up the province of Santiago de los Caballeros, where, in addition, she shared with citizens the main national problems.
While Francisco Domínguez Brito maintained that the rate of robberies, robberies and homicides have grown exponentially in the last two years, ending the downward trend that had been going down for 15 years.
“What is perceived is that crime has taken power in the Dominican Republic, the robbers have control of the streets and neighborhoods,” said the former attorney.
The presidential candidate this weekend toured the Altamira, Imbert, Luperón, Villa Isabela, Navas and Los Hidalgos sectors of the Puerto Plata province and the San José de la Matas and Jánico municipalities of Santiago.
The leaders Maritza Hernández, Karen Ricardo and Luis de León also aspire to the presidential candidacy within the PLD.
