PLD applicants pass balance to internal consultation assembly

The presidential candidates of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) met this Tuesday with the Organizing Committee for the Consultation on applicants Presidential (Conap), the president and general secretary of the organization, Danilo Medina Sánchez and Charlie Mariotti, respectively.

Participating in the meeting were applicants Francisco Domínguez Brito, Karen Ricardo, Maritza Hernández and Luis de León. Margarita Cedeño and Abel Martínez were represented by their delegates.

The Conap of PLD took important steps in organizing the process that is dated October 16 to determine which of the applicants presidential elections has a higher level of sympathy from the public for the general elections of the year 2024.

In the meeting with the liaisons of that commission in the different provinces and the applicants and their representatives, was informed of the progress of the consultation that has the purpose of determining, “through a transparent, participatory and democratic mechanism, which of the applicants has greater public sympathy.

At the meeting, the Regulations that govern the process and the Guide for the work of the links were delivered, as well as a projection of citizen participation and the venues for the Consultation.

Alejandrina Germán, who is the coordinator of Conap, motivated the participants to guide the provincial and municipal directorates on the importance of the mechanism.

In the PLD consultationscheduled for next October 16, members of the PLDas well as citizens registered in the register of the Central Electoral Board who are not registered in the register of other parties.

“We are analyzing the entire issue of the internal process, call it the consultation of October 16, basically points that have to do with each of the details,” explained candidate Francisco Domínguez Brito at the end of the meeting.

While the also applicant Karen Ricardo said that they were agreeing on everything. “The country will come out stronger this October 16 and for this we all have to agree and refine all the details. It was a routine meeting and moving forward in the entire election process,”

Conap, which has been carrying out its work in common agreement with the Commission for the Implementation of the Organizational and Electoral Line of the PLD (Ciloe), meets periodically to consult and coordinate the work with the different applicants and their representation on the Commission.
