Plaza Izazaga 89: tenants and employees remove merchandise after “Operation Cleaning” against piracy

According to a report from ForumTV, This afternoon, mobilization of employees from the different locations in the plaza located on Izazaga Avenue in the Centro neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, was observed.

In the images you can see employees hurrying forward with boxes, bags and devils full of merchandise.

On some social networks that were used to promote items from the plaza, images were disseminated indicating that “on instructions from the owners, the plaza will remain closed until further notice.”

There will be a cleaning operation throughout the country

This week, federal authorities made the call “Operation Cleaning” with which more than 200,000 pieces of piracy from Asia, mainly from countries such as Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia.

After the operation, Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economysaid that Mexico will cancel the licenses of customs agents involved in the illegal importation of confiscated goods. He also indicated that this operation will be expanded to the 32 entities in the country and that in all cases the seized merchandise will be destroyed.

In addition, Ebrard made several exhortations. He told landlords that they cannot navigate the “gray area” and think that they will not have responsibility. “Not that anymore, if you get involved, you also share the cost.”

Specifically, he said that the owner of Plaza Izazaga 89 would be notified of the domain forfeiture application, since four previous operations have been registered in the property and by law, landlords must report if they know of illegal activities in the places they give up. , they must do something to prevent it.
