Basilio Duarte, leader of the Association of Platform Drivers, announced at 1080 AM that they have asked Petróleos Paraguayos (Petropar) to reduce their fuel prices to December values.
They also propose that the state company offer them a fuel discount card, similar to the agreement signed with private emblems.
“Fuel rose in the middle of January where the movement is almost zero. It was not the time. Last year, after demonstrations, we received fuel cards but we did not use them. Discounts were announced, but almost at the same time, Petropar established that same discount for users, which is why our cards were no longer effective, ”he commented.
This Wednesday, the union defines strategies to achieve these objectives or in any case reach forceful measures. However, Duarte announced that they want to exhaust all instances first.
Petropar decided to increase the price of diesel by G. 600 per liter, first on Friday with G. 300 and then on Monday with another G. 300, a decision that affects workers.
