Around 8:00 p.m. yesterday, a small plane fell on the slopes of the Villarrica volcano. This accident ended with two deaths and two injuries, in a complex operation due to the difficult access to the impact area.
Firefighters and rescue teams were able to reach the place after midnight, finding one deceased and three injured people, however when the rescue of one of them was being prepared, his death was confirmed, finally leaving two fatalities.
According to information from Biobío, the plane was driven and manned by a squadron from a pilot school in Santiago, which was destined for Osorno. Due to weather conditions, it was decided to return to Villarrica, where the accident occurred.
