A small plane carrying drugs was intercepted and deducted by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), on Tuesday (11), when entering the national airspace coming from Venezuela, in the northern region of the country. The action, carried out in conjunction with the Federal Police, followed the protocols of Airspace Policing Measures (MPEA), provided for in federal legislation.
Upon being located and intercepted by the FAB, the suspicious aircraft did not identify the radio, nor did it change the route to land in a nearby aerodrome.
Warning shots were fired, also to no avail. With this, the plane was classified as hostile by the Brazilian government and was shot with the so -called detention shot to prevent the continuity of the flight.
“This measure is used as a last resort, after the intercepted aircraft fails to comply with all established procedures and forcing the continuity of the illicit flight. With the implementation of the detention shot, the intercepted plane, classified as hostile, collided with the ground,” informed the FAB, in a note.
The location of the plane on soil occurred on Wednesday (12), through a FAB helicopter.
With the participation of Federal Police agents in the action, two lifeless men and drugs were identified inside the aircraft.
