The Minister of Social Development (MIDES) and Coordinator of the Social Cabinet, María Inés Castillo, participated in the installation of the Colmena Table in Chiriquí, ratifying the commitment that the National Government has in laying the foundations in the fight against extreme poverty and inequality in the most vulnerable districts of the province of Chirica.
The Chiriquí Social Cabinet and Beehive Technical Board were installed at the event with the swearing-in of its members, made up of the Provincial Technical Board, local authorities, the business sector, organized civil society, non-governmental organizations, academia and community leaders.
It was up to the governor of the province of Chiriquí, Juan Carlos Muñoz, to swear in those who officially make up the Beehive Technical Table and commit to combating extreme poverty and reducing the social gaps of inequality.
A total of 19 districts were selected for the entry of the hive strategy, located in the districts of Alanje, Barú, Bugaba, David, Gualaca, Remedios, Renacimiento, San Félix and Tolé.
During the act held in the city of David, Minister Castillo indicated that the province of Chiriquí is beginning a stage of challenges, challenges and teamwork.
“The Hive Plan is born from the base, from the community and the prioritization of their needs, where in addition, the social actors propose possible solutions that are carried out through the actions of the hive clock by the National Government, through teamwork and the generation of synergies that allow the rapid and effective intervention in the identified corregimientos”, said Minister Castillo.
He added that with the Plan Colmena strategy, the leadership of the Government is strengthened and the Community Boards, Municipalities and all entities of the public sector (Technical Board), the private sector, civil society organizations, NGOs, universities, are involved. the unions, community and citizens, within the framework of the Government Strategic Plan and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, guaranteeing citizen participation, so that they become protagonists of their own development.
The corregimientos that will be intervened with the Beehive Plan in Chiriquí are: Divalá and Nuevo México in the district of Alanje; Limones and Rodolfo Aguilar Delgado in Barú; Santo Domingo in Bugaba; Las Lomas and Pedregal in David; Los Angeles and Paja de Sombrero in Gualaca; The Nancito in Remedy; Cañas Gordas and Plaza Caisán in Renaissance and the Juay in San Félix.
While in the district of Tolé there are the districts of Bellas Vista, Cerro Viejo, El Cristo, Justo Fidel Palacios, Lajas de Tolé and Potrero de Caña.
After the installation of the table, progress will be made in the consultations by townships to identify, through the residents, the most priority needs, so that they are intervened and in this way lay the foundations in closing the gaps of inequality. .
Chiriquí today is a hive province, along with Veraguas, Colón, Panamá Oeste, Panamá and Los Santos, which advance together to lay the foundations for a better Panama.
