“The PL will not renounce its flags of ideas, it will be opposition to communist and socialist values, it will be opposition to the future president”, said Costa Neto. According to him, President Jair Bolsonaro, defeated in the re-election contest, will be invited to occupy the honorary presidency of the Liberal Party.
Despite the announcement that the party will oppose the government that will take office on January 1, 2023, specific agendas may have the support of the PL, said Costa Neto.
“I spoke at length with President Bolsonaro, he said that all these issues have to be taken to the bench, and we resolve together. “, he stated.
According to Costa Neto, the party should support the reelection of the current president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), if the congressman supports a PL name for the Senate presidency.
“We will support Arthur Lira with the guarantee that he will help us and work to have our Senate president”, said Valdemar. “We have to compose in the House to succeed in the Senate.”
