The National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (JUFED) reported on the withdrawal this Saturday, in response to reports that, due to the protest, which has been ongoing since Thursday in the Senate, legislators would seek an alternative venue to hold their session.
“The public, legislators and workers are hereby informed that the presence of the police on all streets and access roads has been withdrawn to ensure their free passage,” they said in a statement.

The association also said that the judiciary’s employees maintain a “fluid” dialogue with the Senate’s security staff to maintain free access.
He added that a notary public will certify on Sunday that access to the legislative building remains free.
“Let it be clear that we will not be the ones seeking to prevent the work of legislators in the Upper House,” the association said.
