An official of the Judicial Branch (PJ) went to the home of the recently vacated Dina Boluarte to serve him with a summons related to the hearing preventing him from leaving the country, but he could not get anyone to respond. According to reports, he rang the door and the bell several times during the afternoon without receiving any attention.
The summons in question summons Boluarte to a hearing scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, where Judge Fernando Valdez Pimentel will evaluate the tax requirement that seeks to prevent the former president from leaving the country for a period of 36 months.
Given the impossibility of personally delivering the document, the worker chose to post the notification on the door, in view of the media in the area. In accordance with the PJ’s actions, this action occurs without prejudice to his notification via electronic mailbox to his defense.
The provincial prosecutor who is promoting the measure, Ángel Astocóndor, maintains that there is a risk of flight, arguing that Boluarte has financial solvency as head of state, which would facilitate her departure from the country without control.
In addition, there is another request to prevent departure made by the acting National Prosecutor, Tomás Gálvez, linked to alleged irregularities in his management, which will be evaluated in a separate hearing.
Boluarte’s defense, through his lawyer Juan Carlos Portugal, has rejected versions indicating that she would be absent, ensuring that “neither asylum nor asylum: she is at home.”
