The Judiciary issued a year and five months in prison suspended to Colombian citizens Carlos Sánchez Ortegón and John Amia López, after being found guilty of the crime of violation of foreign sovereignty to the detriment of the Peruvian State.
The sentence was issued by the judge of the Court of Peace Lawyer of the Superior Court of Loreto, who also ordered the immediate expulsion of both citizens of the national territory, prohibiting them to re -enter Peru for a period of five years.
In that sense, it was ordered that both citizens pay, in a solidarity, a civil reparation of S/4,500, which must be paid within a maximum period of 24 hours. If this mandate was not fulfilled, the suspended conviction would become effective.
Through its social networks, the Judiciary reported that the sentence was issued after an anticipated termination agreement between the Public Ministry and foreign citizens, who, according to the entity – admitted their responsibility in the accused crime.
Colombian topographs are involved in Chinería Island without permission from the Peruvian State
The National Police arrested two Colombian citizens who made topographic measurements on Chinería Island, Loreto region, without the corresponding authorization of the Peruvian State. The intervention was carried out as part of the security reinforcement at the border that unites Peru, Colombia and Brazil.
The intervened, from Bogotá and Leticia, worked with satellite GPS teams and pointed out that they fulfilled work for a Colombian construction company.
“They only sent us to take measurements, we did not know that a special permit was necessary,” He declared one of them. His partner added that his work “It is the same as we did in Colombia ” and denied any irregular activity.
The operation was carried out by twenty troops in the waters of the port of Santa Rosa. Both citizens were transferred to the local police station, where they were informed that all activity in Peruvian territory must be coordinated with the authorities, even in areas with free traffic for residents.
