Primero Justicia (PJ) hopes that Volker Türk’s meetings with more than 125 victims, human rights defenders and national NGOs will become facts and concrete measures to guarantee human rights in Venezuela
Following the visit of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turkthe match First Justice (PJ) demanded that the Government of Nicolas Maduro show willingness to respect human rights.

“From Primero Justicia we support the strengthening of the National Commission against Torture, the ratification of the Convention on Forced Detentions and the Escazú Agreement, and we support the visit of Volker Türk, but once again we urge the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to demand that the regime demonstrate its intention to respect Human Rights in Venezuela,” the letter reads.
It also hopes that all those imprisoned for exercising their right to protest and freedom of expression will be released, as well as the freedom of all political prisoners. “We also demand that torture and harassment of those who think differently in the country cease and the repeated threats against NGOs stop.”
