The Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) of the Regional Government of Piurain alliance with the Center for Research and Promotion of Peasants (CIPCA), officially presented the mobile application “SEGESPPIURA”, which will allow health professionals to detect risk factors in pregnant women, contributing to reducing the numbers of maternal deaths.
The use of this digital tool, designed to improve care for pregnant women according to their weeks of pregnancy, will benefit more than 33 thousand pregnant women in the region. Health personnel will be able to carry out more efficient monitoring and ensure compliance with prenatal controls.

The Diresa Regional Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy explained that “SEGESPPIURA” will allow timely identification of risk factors during pregnancy and taking the necessary measures to prevent complications, thus contributing to reducing maternal mortality.
During the official launch of the web application, it was reported that this digital tool will be used within the framework of Health Directive No. 001-DRSP/DEISI-2024, which establishes the provisions for monitoring obstetric risk in the Piura region, with the purpose of reducing maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality.
