Through murders, extortions and shooting attacks recorded on video, the criminal gang “Los Chuckys del Norte” maintains anxiety to the province of Sullana. In the last two and a half months, the group has intensified its violent actions and is attributed with alleged participation in at least four criminal acts that occurred in this jurisdiction.

According to the Police, these actions committed by its members are intended to consolidate their hegemony in collecting fees from lenders in the “drop by drop” modality, as well as in drug trafficking and other activities.
PNP Colonel Julio Garcés, head of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) of Piura, pointed out that they are frightening to want to take control. “The Chuckys of the North” are called because they want to take over their territorial area by collecting quotas from people who are dedicated to “drop by drop”, the sale of drugs and activities dedicated to civil works,” he said.
The colonel explained that the perpetrators film themselves to attract attention. “The ‘Chuckys of the North’ become relevant and have themselves filmed when they use their firearms and extort money from their victims. (…) They would operate in the Sullana issue and want to have control of this city,” added the National Police officer.
He indicated that the Police have been investigating them and so far they are responsible for four events recorded in the town of Sullana. “It is subject to investigation, but it is seen that their actions are filmed and we can attribute to them at least four bloody incidents that are subject to investigation,” emphasized the head of the Divincri of the city of Piura.
THE ATTACKS
In the videos, the shooter always uses the same script before murdering his victims: “The Chuckys of the North, conch…!” While in other attacks they warn them that they must “line up” to avoid retaliation.
One of the last attacks occurred on the night of January 19. According to a video, a subject arrived at a home on block 3 of José María Raygada Street, in AH El Obrero. From the door, he shot at PJBCh. (23). Furthermore, the bullets hit his mother. Both were injured.
On January 14, Colombian collector Luis Giraldo was injured when he was shot in the park of the Victorino Elorz settlement, in Sullana. There, the attacker filmed the attack.
Meanwhile, on December 30 of last year, the band recorded the shooting attack on a collective taxi at a stop near the National University of Frontera, in Sullana. In the recording you can hear saying: “Los Chukys del Norte… Aliniense. Los Chukys del Norte.”
Meanwhile, on November 11 of last year, they filmed shooting dead Venezuelans Víctor Adrián Gil Pacheco (26) and Eglis Yurimar España Mata (35), dedicated to collecting loans, in the esplanade of the San José tap, on the Pan-American highway, in the Sullana-Piura section, in Sullana.
