Personnel from the Drug Trafficking Maneuver Division (DIVMCTID) and the National Anti-Drug Directorate (Dinandro) intervened a couple, who were with a 4-year-old minor so as not to raise suspicions, when they were picking up a package with 31 kilos of marijuana, in the province of Sullana, Piura region.
The intervention took place on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. outside the Shalom transportation agency, located on Avenida Panamericana Norte, in the Santa Rosa urbanization, in the city of Sullana.
Darwin Jonathan Nole Ginocchio (26 years old) and Annghela Mylene Crisanto Nole (30 years old) were stopped at the precise moment they were collecting two cardboard boxes from the aforementioned company from the city of Huamachuco, in La Libertad, which contained the drug. Both were in the company of a 4-year-old child to avoid raising suspicions from the police.
Inside, police found 10 ovoid-shaped packages wrapped with tape, inside which they found green leaves with the smell and characteristics of marijuana, making a total of 31 kilos.
The substance found when subjected to the chemical reagent tested positive for cannabis sativa (marijuana).
It was learned that these packages were impregnated with a substance that smelled like coffee, in order to avoid being detected by the authorities.
The detainees were taken to the headquarters of the Divmctid, as well as the drugs and the motorcycle taxi that had no license plate. Both are believed to be members of an organization dedicated to illegal drug trafficking. They will be investigated for the alleged crime of drug trafficking.
