The family of the District Mayor of La UnionPercy Yamunaqué Chero, as well as his neighbors, because alleged extortionists detonated an explosive device in the home of the municipal authority, whom they had been extorting and demanding money to avoid threatening the lives of his loved ones.
The attack occurred at 00:24 yesterday morning, when the criminals detonated the explosive in front of the mayor’s building on Juan Velasco Street in the San José neighborhood, causing the window panes to break and also damaging part of the water meter box in said house.
It is worth mentioning that the mother and siblings of the mayor of La Unión were inside the house where the explosive was detonated.

In this regard, the municipal authority who participated in a parade for Fiestas Patrias, indicated that it was a cowardly act against his family. “This vile and cowardly act that has been carried out in my home is very regrettable, threatening the lives of my mother and my brothers.
