Control report 029-2024-OCI/0739-SCC indicates that during the visit to eight schools in Tambogrande between July 9 and 12, the people in charge of preparing food do not comply with good handling practices, as they have their nails painted with nail polish, do not wear aprons, lack of use of a mask, hair protector and inadequate nail hygiene.
The commission confirmed that in educational centers No. 731, 14975, 20827 Godofredo García Baca, 15190 and 1344, food preparation was not carried out in accordance with the standards established by the program.
It was also found that none of the eight schools visited had a “Preparation Serving Table”, showing that the amount of food rations given to users is determined by the person in charge of serving or according to the capacity of the container (tupperware and/or plate); this without considering the age of the user or the educational level to which they belong.
“It was noted that the spaces designated for serving food are located in the kitchens of each educational institution, which do not have protective mesh on doors and windows; the presence of flies and other animals such as dogs, chickens and ants was noted,” reads the Comptroller’s report.
The control commission observed that the schools visited do not adequately manage the solid waste generated by the provision of food services and the kitchens do not have containers for the collection of organic and inorganic waste or these do not have bags or lids.
