Blow to drug trafficking. A total of 1002 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride of the highest purity was seized in a mega operation carried out in the port of Paita, in the PiuraIn addition, three alleged members of a criminal organization dedicated to international drug trafficking, which includes a Colombian, were arrested.

The intervention was carried out at 11:30 pm last Friday, thanks to patient intelligence and monitoring work by the Department of Anti-Drug Operations (Depotad) of Piura, the National Anti-Drug Directorate of Lima, among other police units, in coordination with the Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office.
Thus, at the Euroandinos Port Terminal (TPE), located on Jirón Ferrocarril N° 127 in the city of Paita, approximately 1002 kilos of cocaine alkaloid were found, which were going to be camouflaged in a container that was transporting squid and was going to be sent to Belgium. In this way they sought not to raise the suspicions of the police authorities.
Police arrested three alleged members of the criminal organization “Los Internacionales de los Mariscos”, who were identified as Ángeles Estefan García Arcela (33 years old), Javier Enrique Oliva Ladines (33 years old) and the Colombian Héctor Jaime Ramírez Múñoz (48 years old).
Authorities also seized a vehicle with license plate P4F – 279.
ANOTHER INTERVENTION
Subsequently, and after a series of proceedings, on the Pan-American Highway North, jurisdiction of Marcavelica, in the province of Sullana, the Police intervened three people, including a minor, with 40 circular packages containing 42,018 kilograms of drugs and a vehicle was seized.
Police are investigating whether the drugs seized in Marcavelica were also going to be transported to the port of Paita to be “packaged” in a container.
In both cases, both the detainees and the seized drugs were transferred to the headquarters of the Anti-Drug Operations Department (Depotad) in Piura, where the case is being investigated and investigations are continuing to arrest the other members of this alleged criminal organization dedicated to international drug trafficking.
Let us remember that until July 10, the Anti-Drug Prosecutor’s Office and the police have seized 34,490 kilograms of marijuana, more than 854 kilos of cocaine paste, nearly 1,600 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, more than 3 kilos of opium and 125 grams of coca leaves in the Piura region.
In June, authorities intervened in a Colombian cartel with ties to international drug traffickers, who are believed to be the owners of more than 700 kilos of cocaine seized at the premises of an export company in the Industrial Zone of the province of Sullana and which was to be sent to Europe through the port of Paita. Colombians, Ecuadorians and Peruvians were arrested in that operation. The shipment left from Colombia.
