After the decision of the Justice, both the leader of Cabildo Abierto, Senator Guido Manini Ríos, and the Military Center questioned the judicial decision and defended Rebollo.
Democracy is undermined
For its part, the Executive Secretariat of the PIT-CNT, after analyzing the prosecution of retired military officer Juan Rebollo, indicated that the position of the union movement in the defense of human rights and in the claim for truth and justice is public and notorious. about the events of the recent past.
In this framework, “every step taken in order to shed light on the dark events, produces peace of mind and satisfaction by placing the historical events of our country in their fair term,” the union central said in its statement.
The PIT-CNT also expressed surprise and its emphatic rejection of “the public expressions of some well-known political actors, who attack the basis of our republican democracy that establishes the separation of powers and their independence.”
“The judicial rulings we may or may not like. What cannot be done is to call into question the actions of the Justice, adjusted to the law and within the framework of our current regulations”, clarifies the labor union.
The PIT-CNT states that such public expressions are “irresponsible and undermine democracy, feed hatred and polarize the discussion.”
They also assure that “they do not help the necessary overcoming of the past, with truth and justice, forging fire in our society never again”.
