The Expanded National Representative Table of the PIT-CNT, analyzed the conflictive situation in the dairy sector, in the face of the “onslaught” by the company CONAPROLE, which is the leading voice of the Chamber of the Dairy Industry of Uruguay, which intends to sign a “leonine” peace clause, to the detriment of workers in the dairy industry, in a sector that has been growing, in exchange for recovering salary in 24 months, plus the 18 that have been lost.
Suffocate the unions
In this sense, the trade union central denounced the business attitude as “another demonstration of various employer persecutory actions that seek to corner and suffocate the unions.”
For 13 consecutive years, the CONAPROLE company has been awarded as the largest exporter in Uruguay and, at the same time, its workers “have been losing wages for 18 months.”
“Likewise, currently, the company is dismissed with a totally unjustified dismissal of a fellow mother who is head of household. The unjustified dismissal must be reversed, ”said the workers’ union.
On the other hand, the PIT-CNT denounces that, as is the case in other areas of the national scene, it is facing “a rude enrichment of a handful of businessmen favored and privileged by the government, and those few increasingly accumulate more, through the surplus value of its workers.
