The cabins, which were declared “Cultural and Tourist Heritage of the Plurinational State of Bolivia” By Decree Law 0654 in 2012, they are located in an area that formerly housed the Santa Cruz Botanical Garden. This was destroyed by a storm in 1983, and in its place settled families that currently number about 50. These families found a way of life in the traditional food trade.
