Although the demonstrations began in the early hours of the morning, the picketers they announced that they will not move from the Plaza de Mayo until the head of the Palacio de Hacienda receives them.
“We are going to stay in the Plaza de Mayo so that the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, receives us,” they indicated; however, the organizations clarified that it is not a camp, but a measure of permanence.
“We are going to stay. The companions will rotate 24 hours a day. We are going to be in front of the Casa Rosada, a few meters from the Economy building, until the new minister receives us. Like Silvina Batakis, we presented a request for an audience to Massa as soon as he took office. Since he did not answer us, we will remain in the place until he attends to us. That is permanence.”
Meanwhile, the leader of the Polo Obrero, Eduardo Belliboni, said: “We do not expect Massa to receive us today, but we expect there to be an agenda for a meeting with the workers.”
In any case, the organizations do not rule out holding a camp if their requests are not heard by the Government, since for weeks they have requested a meeting to speak with the head of the economic portfolio.
Mobility has been affected by the protest
The protest of the organizations started around 11:00 a.m., since then, mobility complications arise, mainly on 9 de Julio Avenue, which remains closed.
In addition, the descent of Autopista 25 de Mayo remains closed. There are also congregations on Avenida de Mayo and Belgrano. At the moment, the Metrobús operates normally.
