Leaders and militants grouped in the Piquetera Unit (UP) will carry out a new “mobilization and camp” in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Development, where they will claim for the suspensions and dismissals in the Empower Work program, among other demands.
This was confirmed to Télam by the national territorial coordinator of Libres del Sur, Silvia Saravia, who announced that the protest, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. in front of the social portfolio headquarters, located at the intersection of 9 de Julio and Belgrano, “will be national” and “at least until Thursday.”
Saravia listed the demands of the UP: “There are several pending issues, including the people who were unfairly suspended from the (Potenciar Trabajo) program.”
Also “we have claims regarding the delivery of food.”
“In addition, there are still delays in the delivery of materials and tools for productive enterprises,” he explained.
The leftist Piquetero Unit is made up of militants from the MTR-Votamos Luchar, CUBA-MTR, the Polo Obrero, Libres del Sur, the National Piquetero Bloc, the Armando Conciencia Group and the November 17 Organization, the MTR Teresa Rodríguez, factions of the FOL and the Liberation Territorial Movement (MTL-Rebelde).

On Tuesday of last week, before another similar protest, the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz, had rejected the questions of the Piquetero Unit.
“This is not solved by using the most needy people, it is solved by validating the identity. They cannot explain where the 6,000 men and women from the Piquetera Unit, from the Polo Obrero, who certified last month and who were making a consideration are, where are they?” the minister was asked.
“We have our arms wide open to validate their identity, this cannot be resolved by using the most needy people in Argentina in a march in these heats, putting the health of older adults, boys and girls at risk; this is solved by bringing people to validate their identity”he added.
