Despite the fact that in his most recent musical success, Sakira from Barranquilla, in session 53 with Bizarrap he makes a comparison between the Rolex and Casio brands, history indicates that the latter can be considered the father of wristwatches.

Kashio Tadao, founded the CASIO company in 1946 and by the year 1974, the Japanese company marks a milestone in the history of watches by developing one of the world’s first digital wristwatches.

Since 1957, the Japanese company had been setting milestones in technology as it introduced the first fully electric compact calculator. The company is best known for its calculators and watches, but it also designs and manufactures sound equipment, PDAs, digital cameras, watches, and electronic keyboards.

Now in 2023, Casio returned to everyone’s mouth through Shakiraa’s song where she sends hints to her ex-partner and father of her children Gerard Piqué, “You changed a Rolex for a Casio”, in reference to the relationship that began with his current girlfriend Clara Chia.

But if someone knew how to take advantage of the popularity of this phrase, inspired to cause discomfort or some harm to Piqué, it was the footballer himself, as he announced that the CASIO brand will be a sponsor of the “King’s League”, a football league created by the ex-Barcelona player.

During the announcement, Piqué wore a Casio wristwatch and promised to give one to all the presidents of the competition. “It’s a watch for life,” he concluded.
