Several sectors of the province of Santiago were left without the supply of drinking water after a disaster occurred this Wednesday. breakdown in a 20 inch pipelocated on the edge of the Duarte highway, close to the Pontifical Catholic University Mother and Teacher (PUCMM), as a result of the excavations being carried out for the Monorail work.
Among the affected areas, as reported by the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Coraasan), include El Embrujo I, II and III, La Rosaleda, Imperial cast, Villa Olga, La Española and Ilusión cast.
There is also Villa María, Villa del Norte, the Militares neighborhood, Rafael Vidal Avenue, Jardines del Este, Las Carmelitas, La Moraleja and Los Álamos, which will receive the supply gradually once the work is completed.
Likewise, the director of the institution’s Aqueducts, engineer Elwin Rodríguez, stated that the service will be restored immediately once the work is completed.
Rodríguez explained that the brigades of the water treatment institution work in coordination with the team that is in charge of the construction of the rail transportation system in that area.
