In at least a dozen points in the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office, messages appeared on the walls of public buildings, bridges and housing units promoting the federal deputy of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) Xavier González Zirión, heading to the elections to define the Head of Government of Mexico City in 2024.
With paints made with aerosol, on fences and in some places on graffiti that were already there previously, the name of the legislator can be seen followed by the phrase goverment’s head

Even the PRI offices in the mayor’s office, which are also used by the legislator as a management and citizen service module, were painted with the same phrase next to the party logo.
One of the pints is located on the Periférico bridge with Molinos avenue, also on fences on Lomas de Plateros avenue, on Francisco de P. Miranda street and at the PRI headquarters located on that same road. Also, on fences of the Lomas de Plateros unit.
In addition to the electoral legislation that regulates and sanctions possible acts of early promotion, the Civic Culture Law of Mexico City establishes as an administrative offense damaging or painting facades of public or private property without authorization, as well as paint, adhere, hang or fix advertisements or any type of advertising on elements of urban equipment, street furniture, ornaments or trees, without authorization to do so
.
In such cases, sanctions ranging from reprimands, fines up to 40 times the value of the Measurement and Update Unit or imprisonment for up to 36 hours, in addition to community work, are contemplated.
