MADRID, Spain.- Tony Guerra from Pinar del Río joined the long list of players who have left Cuba in the last year. Guerra, 24, arrived in the United States this weekend after crossing borders from Nicaragua to Mexico.
According to reported sportswriter Francys Romero will reside in the Houston, Texas area and seek new opportunities in baseball.

Tony Guerra competed in Cuba in five National Series with the Vegueros de Pinar del Río. In the last one he was the regular third baseman of his team; he hit .300 with an average of 18 extra-base hits and drove in 34 runs.
In 2021 he had integrated the Cuba Sub-23 Team that competed in the Junior Pan American in Barranquilla, Colombia, where the Cuban team finished in third place.
In September of this year, Guerra, together with Reilandy González and Lázaro Emilio Blanco, also from Pinar del Río, had asked to leave of national baseball.
Last week, Cuban baseball prospects Alejandro Prieto and Anthony Santa Cruz immigrated to the Dominican Republic with the aim of settling there and seeking a professional signing.
