The program No Censorship this Monday (10th) receives the rally driver Igor Melo. Journalist Marina Machado talks to the competitor about the challenges of the Sertões International Rally, in which she has participated for 24 years. The program airs at 9:30 pm on TV Brazil.
Igor Nogueira Alves de Melo was born in Goiânia, in 1979, he has been a pilot and navigator of the Sertões International Rally since 1998.
The Sertões International Rally is held every year, lasts ten days and brings together a caravan of two thousand people, involving state governments, city halls, private investors and communication companies as partners. It moves around R$ 50 million per edition. The first four stages of the competition are valid for the Brazilian Cross Country Rally Championship.
The first edition of the competition was held in 1993 and had the participation of 34 motorcycles, the only category at the time. Starting in Campos do Jordão and arriving on the beaches of Rio Grande do Norte, there were 3,500 kilometers (km) of route. Currently, the event has a route of 5 thousand kilometers, which passes through states in the North, Northeast and Midwest.
In the 2022 competition, the award was distributed among drivers who had the best driving scores in the categories of motorcycles, quads, utility vehicles, cars and trucks.
Rally navigators Claudinha Grandi and Rodrigo Mello participate in this edition as guest debaters.
The program No Censorship airs on Mondays at 9:30 pm, right after the soap opera the promised landwith broadcast throughout the country on open TV through broadcasters affiliated to the National Public Communication Network – TVmanaged by Brazil Communication Company (EBC), and through other platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, where the public can participate using the hashtag #SemCensura.
