According to Píer Mauá, on the 18th, 19th, 24th and 27th the circulation of tourists should increase with simultaneous dockings. However, the busiest days should be the 21st and 25th, when nine more ships arrive. The forecast is to close the month of January with more than 75 thousand tourists, not counting the crew.

The new cruise season will bring 12 imposing ships. Among them, the Costa Pacífica, which arrived this Saturday (18th) and will remain at the Pier for 17 hours, in addition to the Seven Seas Splendor, which will remain until the 19th, when the MSC Orchestra will dock.

The four ships docking simultaneously on the 21st are MSC Poesia, MSC Magnifica, MV Pacific World and Bolete, which arrives on the 20th. Data from Píer Mauá indicate that there will be more than 8,500 tourists on this day.

The Seven Seas Mariner arrives at Pier Mauá on the 24th, where the Costa Favolosa will also be located. The following day, the terminal will become a meeting point for cruise ships, with the Costa Pacífica, MS Marina, which stays until the 27th, MSC Seaview, MSC Orchestra and Seven Seas Mariner. According to the site administration, there will be more than 15 thousand people.

On the 26th, it will be the MS Insígnia’s turn to arrive with more tourists to explore the city. The ship will leave the next day for Montevideo. The fortnight ends with the MSC Poesia returning to the terminal for another trip.

For the operations manager at Píer Mauá, Marcello Chagas, the prolonged stay of ships in Rio can be explained, in part, by the increased interest of tourists in exploring new destinations in the capital. “We are observing a growing interest in alternative tourist routes, which has attracted several vessels for longer stays,” he said in a statement.
