Piedad Córdoba assures that there is no extradition request against her

The elected senator of the Historical Pact, Piedad Córdoba, released a video on her social networks with a series of statements in which ensures that there is no extradition request against him or cooperation with any country.

In the video, Córdoba points out that, after requesting, together with his lawyer Eduardo Montealegre, the Attorney General’s Office to respond to the alleged proceedings against him abroad, “The entity’s response denies any ongoing process.”

“He denies any process in progress for the book of Mr. ‘Raúl Reyes’, links with Álex Saab or manipulation of witnesses in prisons. Secondly, it clarifies that there is no request or extradition, nor legal cooperation to investigate me by any state as my detractors have rumored.

And he added: “those who want the orange turban are going to be left with the desire. Enough already! of media persecution and legal war against Piedad Córdoba and the Historical Pact. I demand guarantees so that we all have our right to engage in politics”, concluded.

Recently, presidential candidate Gustavo Petro asked Córdoba suspend activities in his campaign, until the legal syndications against him are resolved.

On his Twitter account, the presidential candidate stated: “I ask Piedad Córdoba to suspend all her activities within the campaign, until she can resolve, hopefully, favorably, the legal charges against her.”

Currently, the Supreme Court of Justice is conducting an investigation in preliminary stage for alleged links with the FARC guerrilla during the government of former President Andrés Pastrana.

It is worth mentioning that Córdoba returns to Congress by placing eighth on the list of the Historical Pact. Precisely, one of the great winners of last Sunday’s election day, March 13, was the Historic Pact, achieving 20 senators and 25 in the House of Representatives.
