Piedad Córdoba, accused of 'Farc politics', returns to the Senate. How did she do it?

When launched on a closed list by the PHistorical act, Piedad Córdoba come back to Senate of the Republic, despite the scandals in which it has been immersed on behalf of the ‘Farcpolitics’.

With 2,302,847 votesthe Historical Pact achieved 16 seats for the Senatewhich surprised hundreds by becoming the most voted movement in Colombia.

Córdoba returns to Congress by placing eighth on the list of the community, however, it faces an investigation for the alleged political use of the releases of the halters held by the former FARC guerrilla.

In addition, Córdoba is questioned for alleged business and transactions with the so-called figurehead of Nicolas Maduro, Alex Saab.

It should be remembered that one of the big winners of the election day last Sunday, March 13, was the Historical Pact, by achieving 16 senators and 25 in the House of Representativesfor a total of 41 congressmen from this movement.

In this regard, Córdoba indicated that “after more than 200 years of republican life, for the first time a truly popular and social force is close to reaching the Presidency of Colombia. The Historical Pact is an urban force but also a peasant, ethnic, young and full of women force”.
