Last Wednesday, a violent assault occurred at the intersection of José Balta and 7 de Junio streets, in Pichanaqui. During the incident, two armed individuals, one of them identified as Johner Luján Pérez (33), attacked a married couple who were collecting payments for the sale of chicken.

Venezuelan Miguel Marín Camacho and his wife Sandra Méndez Díaz were surprised by two men on a motorcycle. They robbed them of the money they had collected for chicken. As Miguel Marín refused to let go of the bag in which he kept the money, the criminal fired several times and one bullet hit the foreigner in the thigh.
Neighbors alerted of the robbery in progress, in the upper part of Pichanaqui, which immediately activated the Serenazgo agents’ siege plan. During the intervention, the serenos managed to find one of the suspects in the middle of a struggle with his victim, while another managed to escape on a black and white motorcycle, taking S/7 thousand.
Johner Luján Pérez hid in a house, but the officers guarded his entrances and exits until the arrival of the National Police, who entered and took his weapon. The wounded man was quickly taken to the hospital in Pichanaqui, where he received medical attention for the gunshot wound.

The deputy manager of Citizen Security in Pichanaqui asked the justice operators to do their job and to keep these criminals behind bars and not allow any criminal act.
“Currently, the crime rate has dropped by up to 22 percent in the area. This is thanks to the current administration, which provided 30 radios, 10 motorcycles, 18 security cameras and currently the area is equipped with 52 security guards who have pepper spray and tonfa batons, implements that serve to carry out a frontal fight against crime,” he pointed out.
