The voice of Flor Pucarina resonates again in Huancayo through the photographic exhibition “Flor Pucarina: The diva of crowds”, which will present unpublished images of the iconic Huancaína singer. The sample will be open from October 1 to 6 at the Sotomayor house (Calle Real 548, second level), from 10 am to 7 pm with free admission.

The exhibition will gather little known photographs and documents that will bring the public closer to the life and trajectory of Paula and Efigenia Chávez Rojas, remembered for his powerful voice and his style that melted Quechua and Spanish. Flor Pucarina is considered an icon of Andean cultural identity and huancaína music.
This year there are 90 years of his birth in Pucará, a district that saw her grow and from where she began her artistic path, becoming a reference for Andean music and leaving an indelible mark on popular memory.

The exhibition is aimed at artist followers, researchers, artists and citizens interested in revaluing the cultural heritage of the region, and seeks to pay tribute to the singer known as the “Faraona del Cantar Huanca.”
