Phase 1 and 2 of the City of Health are inaugurated, work has an overall progress of 82%

This Wednesday, September 7, the first two stages of the City of Health were inaugurated, specifically the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute, the Transplant Center, the Nephrology Institute and the Blood Bank.
The director of the Social Security Fund (CSS), Enrique Lau Corés, announced that the work has an overall progress of 82% and reiterated that by December 16, 2023 it must be completed in its entirety.
He stressed that they will have a specialized area to treat cerebral vascular problems (strokes), which will work through a system that will allow the disintegration of the clots that cause brain problems to begin.
In addition to this, he assured that they will have robotic surgeries to be at the forefront of the health systems of first world countries and announced that they are already forming the first group that will specialize in this type of surgery.
The director of the CSS also recalled that the referred patients must arrive at the City of Health because it is a 4-level unit, the most complex. He added that this hospital center will not have an emergency room because in the province of Panama there are already specialized hospitals to attend to these emergencies, such as the Arnulfo Arias Madrid Hospital Complex, Susana Jones (San Miguelito), Irma Lourdes Tzanetatos (December 24) and Santo Tomas Hospital.
