Pharmacists propose Clearing House in health services

A Chamber of Compensation in health services, proposes Jaime Olive, president of the board of directors of the National College of Pharmacists of Panama (Conalfarm).

This system, which operates in the National Bank, has the function of regularizing all national and international commercial, economic and real estate transactions.

This financial activity is carried out in 24 hours, which shows its efficiency, since before it took between 48 and 72 hours.

Olive hopes to be able to adapt this system to health services in order to obtain multiple benefits.

For this, the cost system in health institutions must be unified, in all spheres, he added.

The director of Conalfarm points out that in the design of the necessary forms for this purpose, private clinics must be included so that, in an emergency, the citizen can be treated, stabilized and sent to the corresponding level of care, depending on the complexity of the case.

Olive explains that with its application, the State would be allocating the corresponding budget, to avoid affecting other care programs of the Social Security Fund, thus achieving the start of the transformation of care in the health sector.
